General Description
The SS3580-USB device is an isolated interface converter between the USB port and the asynchronous serial lines RS485 or RS422 that guarantees complete isolation between the power supply, the USB and the RS-485 or 422 serial line, eliminates possible grounding effects, allowing the device to be used even in harsh environmental conditions.
It is designed to work either on the RS-422 full-duplex 4-wire serial interface or on the RS485 half-duplex 2-wire, with a transmission rate up to 115.2 Kbps. The transmission is asynchronous without setting the protocol, the data format and the transmission rate.
SS 3580-USB complies with the 89/336/EEC directive on electromagnetic compatibility.
The device is housed in a rugged self-extinguishing plastic container which, thanks to its thin profile of only 22.5 mm, allows high-density mounting on a standard EN-50022 DIN rail.
