General Description
The SS3580-MBTCP gateway allows Modbus RTU devices of the RS-485 network to be connected to an Ethernet network via the Modbus TCP protocol. Using the Telnet interface it is possible to configure all the options on the Modbus TCP side (IP address, subnet mask, etc.) and the Modbus RTU side options (baud rate, etc…).
The device guarantees complete isolation between the lines, allowing use even in harsh environmental conditions.
The SS3000 series devices are designed to be easily mounted on a DIN rail, optimizing space occupancy. As long as thermal dissipation allows, the devices can be mounted side by side, allowing a significant reduction of the required space. The connections are made using removable screw terminals, in order to simplify the handling of the devices.
LED signalling of Ethernet activity and of RX-TX data on the serial line allows direct monitoring of the system functionality. The connection is made using removable screw terminals (power supply and RS-485) and an RJ45 connector (Ethernet).
SS 3580-MBTCP complies with the 89/336/EEC directive on electromagnetic compatibility.
The device is housed in a rugged self-extinguishing plastic container which, thanks to its thin profile of only 22.5 mm, allows high-density mounting on a standard EN-50022 DIN rail.
