General description
The SS 3016 device can accept up to 4 analog input signals. The data values are transmitted by the MODBUS RTU/ASCII protocol to the RS-485 network (an RS-232 interface is available).
It is possible to connect thermocouples or voltage signals up to +/- 1V.
Cold junction compensation for the thermocouples is performed internally. By means of a 16-bit converter, the device guarantees high accuracy and a measurement that is stable with respect to time and temperature.
In order to ensure plant safety, two Watch-Dog alarm timers are provided.
The 2000 Vac isolation between input, power supply and serial line eliminates any grounding effects, allowing the device to be used even in harsh environmental conditions.
The SS 3016 complies with the 89/336/EEC electromagnetic compatibility directive.
The device is housed in a rugged self-extinguishing plastic case which, thanks to its slim profile of only 17.5 mm, allows high-density mounting on a standard EN-50022 DIN rail.
