A measuring current transformer works on the principle of electromagnetic induction: in systems carrying dangerously high rated currents (150A, 2000A, etc.) it steps the current down to measurable levels for metering and to safe levels (1A, 5A, etc.) for protection, ensuring that measuring and protection devices are isolated from the network.
Current Transformers; It consists of 3 parts: the primary winding, through which the high rated current is carried, the secondary winding, which is safe and of low current, and the magnetic core, onto which these windings are wound, for converting the primary alternating current into the secondary current. Thanks to this structure, the high currents drawn from the system can be measured and monitored with an ammeter, a multimeter, an energy analyzer, a meter, protection relays and all measuring and protection devices that work with similar techniques.
