General Description
The SS8580 device allows the connection of all devices from a Modbus RTU RS-485 serial line to Ethernet with the Modbus TCP protocol.
Via the integrated web server it is possible to configure the Modbus TCP option (IP address, subnet mask, etc.) and Modbus RTU (baud rate, etc.).
The device provides complete electrical isolation between the lines, introducing valid protection against the effects of any ground loops that may exist in industrial applications.
The signalling LEDs for Ethernet and serial communication activity and power supply allow direct monitoring of the system functionality.
Connection is made by means of removable screw terminals (inputs and power supply) and an RJ45 plug (Ethernet).
The device is housed in a rugged self-extinguishing plastic enclosure which, thanks to its thin profile of only 22.5 mm, allows high-density mounting on a standard EN-50022 DIN rail.
