General Description
New in the Teltonika family, the RUT 500 router is an ideal device for remote management over HSPA + / UMTS / GPRS for industrial automation or building automation systems. It offers wireless data connectivity to public HSPA+ networks, combined with support for previous-generation telephone services in case of operation without a UMTS signal. HSPA + can reach a download speed of 21 Mbps.

The RUT500 provides Internet network access to a PC or PLC, without the need for a fixed telephone line. It does not require any software to run on the computer and is able to make your system remote over the Internet in complete safety. An ideal solution for overcoming the digital divide problem and establishing a fast Internet connection in places not yet covered by ADSL technology.
It comes with DDNS support and allows a fixed address even if your contract does not cover it. It is an immediate solution with maximum security (it is equipped with a firewall and VPN) for remotely connecting to your automation system or camera system over IP. It integrates 4 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports, one of which can be configured as WAN Backup, to provide support and take over in the event of a failure of the normal ADSL or another 3G router.
The router introduces important changes compared to the previous model: in addition to using a new component for connection to the HSPA + broadband network, the router integrates new, much faster hardware and new firmware based on the OpenWRT system. In addition, the operating system is accessible and can be managed via the SSH interface. Support for commands via SMS introduces a higher level of security and reliability, while leaving the previous Ping Reboot functionality unchanged. Various new services for dynamic DNS support have also been introduced, both commercial and custom. Also, the Wi-Fi module has been upgraded to version 802.11n for an extremely fast wireless connection.
